He started as a pianist, and had a See also:great success at the See also:chief See also:European centres. He was made a member of the Berlin See also:Academy in 1899. In 1897 he settled in See also:Paris. He became a prolific composer both for See also:pianoforte and for See also:orchestra, but is best known by his See also:Spanish dances, written for four hands on the piano, and his waltzes. His See also:opera See also:Boabdil was performed at Berlin in 1892.
