They were easily defeated, though Ralph sent to See also:Denmark for See also:ships and went there himself to fetch them. Ralph forfeited his See also:English lands, and took See also:refuge in See also:Brittany on his wife's See also:estate. In 1076, having plotted against See also:Duke Hoel of Brittany, he was besieged at Doi, and the Conqueror came to Hoel's aid; but Ralph finally made his See also:peace. Both he and his wife took See also:part in the first crusade (1099), and died on the road to See also:Palestine.
