RICHFIELD SPRINGS , a See also:village of Richfield township, Otsego See also:county, New See also:York, U.S.A., about 22 M. S.S.E. of See also:Utica and 4 m. N. of See also:Schuyler (or Candarago) See also:lake. Pop. (189o) 1623; (1900) 1537; (1905) 1684; (1910) 1503. It is served by the See also:Delaware, Lackawanna & Western railway, and by the See also:Oneonta & See also:Mohawk Valley electric See also:line connecting with the New York Central railway at See also:Herkimer. The village is situated in a farming See also:country, about 1700 ft. above See also:sea-level. Knit goods are manufactured, but the importance of the See also:place is due to its See also:sulphur springs, the See also:waters of which are used for the treatment of skin diseases, See also:gout, See also:rheumatism, etc., and to the tonic See also:air and See also:fine scenery. In 1908 a Welsh See also:eisteddfod was held here in Earlington See also:Park. The first hotels were built between 182o and 1830. A See also:post See also:office was established here in 1829, and the village was incorporated in 1861.
