SEAWRACK , the detached seaweeds thrown up, often in See also:

great quantities, by the See also:sea and used for manure, also formerly for making See also:kelp. It consists largely of See also:species of Fucus—See also:brown seaweeds with See also:flat branched ribbon-like fronds, characterized in F. serratus by a saw-toothed margin and in F. vesiculosus, another See also:common species, by bearing See also:air-bladders. Also of Zostera marina, so-called sea-grass, a marine flowering plant with See also:bright See also:green See also:long narrow grass-like leaves.
