In the See also:War of See also:Independence he served as second See also:lieutenant in a Massachusetts See also:regiment from May to See also:December 1775, became See also:captain in the 5th Massachusetts regiment in See also:January 1777, and resigned his See also:commission in See also:October 1780. After the collapse of Shays's Insurrection he escaped to See also:Vermont. He was pardoned in See also:June 1788, and died at See also:Sparta, New See also:York, on the 29th of See also:September 1825.
