     Magnum Opus Hermetic Sourceworks Series
This series of limited edition hand-bound books by Adam McLean were initially produced between 1979 and 1986. They were never sold through book dealers, but only by direct mail order. Consequently, these books became collectors items, often fetching high prices on the second-hand market. Only a few copies remain of some of the older titles in this series and a number are now entirely sold out. Since 1997 twenty two new titles have been issued with more in preparation.

No. 53. The Philosopher's Head
Edited with an introduction by Adam McLean
In 1543 Agostino Dario from Vicenza created a woodcut for his book, Opus de Anima, in which he sought to distil knowledge of the relationship between the Macrocosm and Microcosm. This later gave rise to a number of more complex versions which Robert Fludd used for his well known image. In 1637 a version was issued in English and this is used as the basis for this book which enables readers to examine each section in detail.
Limited edition of 100 signed and numbered hardbound copies. 32 illustrations. A5. 67 pages. Supplied with a large chart.
