Woollen and See also:linen goods are manufactured, and there are ribbon looms and tanneries in the town, and large See also:iron See also:works in the neighbourhood. There are several See also:schools and churches, and a statue of the poet See also:Christian See also:Schubart. Aalen was a See also:free imperial See also:city from 1360 to 1802, when it was annexed to Wurttemberg.
