The Aethiopis (Ai8wolris), in five books, was so called from the Aethiopian See also:Memnon, who became the ally of the Trojans after the See also:death of See also:Hector. As the opening shows, it took up the narrative from the See also:close of the Iliad. It begins with the famous deeds and death of the See also:Amazon Penthesileia, and concludes with the death and See also:burial of See also:Achilles and the dispute between See also:Ajax and See also:Odysseus for his arms. The See also:title thus only applied to See also:part of the poem. The See also:Sack of See also:Troy ('Iaiou M pats) gives the stories of the wooden See also:horse, Sinon, and See also:Laocoon, the See also:capture of the See also:city, and the departure of the Greeks under the wrath of Athene at the See also:outrage of Ajax on See also:Cassandra.
