On his return he held a number of livings in See also:succession, and in 1516 was See also:rector of See also:South Ockenden, See also:Essex, and See also:prebendary of See also:Lincoln See also:Cathedral. In the suppression of the See also:minor monasteries in 1524–1525 he gave See also:Wolsey much assistance, and became prebendary of Not,tingham in 1526 and of St See also:Paul's, See also:London, in 1527. These prebends he resigned in 1528 on his See also:election as archbishop of See also:Dublin. For four years he was See also:chancellor of See also:Ireland but his career was full of trouble. In 1531 he was fined under the Statutes of Provisors and See also:Praemunire, and in 1534 met a violent See also:death at the hands of See also:Lord See also:Thomas See also:Fitzgerald's followers.
