BELVIDERE , a See also:

city and the See also:county-seat of See also:Boone county, See also:Illinois, U.S.A., in the N. See also:part of the See also:state, on the Kishwaukee See also:river, about 78 m. N.W. of See also:Chicago. Pop. (1890) 3867; (1900) 6937 (1018 See also:foreign-See also:born); (191o) 7253. It is served by the Chicago & See also:North-Western railway, and by an extensive inter-See also:urban electric See also:system. Among its manufactures are sewing See also:machines, boilers, automobiles, bicycles, See also:roller-skates, pianos, gloves and mittens, corsets, See also:flour and See also:dairy products, See also:Borden's condensed See also:milk factory being located there. Belvidere was settled in 1836, was incorporated in 1852 and was re-incorporated in 1881.
