See also:BRIHASPATI, or BRAHMANASPATI (" See also:god of strength ") , a deity of importance in See also:early See also:Hindu See also:mythology. In the Rigveda he is represented as the god of See also:prayer, aiding See also:Indra in his See also:conquest of the See also:cloud-demon, and at times appears to be identified with See also:Agni, god of See also:fire. He is the offspring of See also:Heaven and See also:Earth, the two worlds; is the inspirer of prayer and the See also:guide and See also:protector of the pious. He is pictured as having seven mouths, a See also:hundred wings and horns and is armed with See also:bow and arrows and an See also:axe. He rides in a See also:chariot See also:drawn by red horses.
