CATALPA , in See also:

botany, a genus belonging to the See also:family Bignaniaceae and containing about ten See also:species in See also:America and eastern See also:Asia. The best known is Catalpa bignonioides, a native of the eastern See also:United States which is often cultivated in parks and gardens. It is a stately See also:tree with large See also:heart-shaped pointed leaves and panicles of See also:white See also:bell-shaped See also:flowers streaked with yellow and See also:brown See also:purple.
