COTONEASTER , a genus of the See also:

rose See also:family (See also:Rosaceae), containing about twenty See also:species of shrubs and small trees, natives of See also:Europe, See also:North See also:Africa and temperate See also:Asia. C. vulgaris is native on the See also:limestone cliffs of the See also:Great See also:Orme in North See also:Wales. Several species are grown in shrubberies and See also:borders, or as See also:wall See also:plants, mainly for their clusters of See also:bright red or yellow See also:berry-like fruits. Plants are easily raised by seeds, cuttings or layers, and grow well in See also:ordinary See also:soil.
