Denison is the seat of the See also:Gate City business See also:college (generally known as Harshaw See also:Academy), and of St See also:Xavier's academy (See also:Roman See also:Catholic). It is chiefly important as a railway centre, as a See also:collecting and distributing point for the See also:fruit, vegetables, hogs and poultry, and See also:general farming products of the surrounding region, and as a wholesale and jobbing See also:market for the upper Red river valley. It has railway repair shops, and among its manufactures are See also:cotton-See also:seed oil, cotton, machinery and foundry products, See also:flour, wooden-See also:ware, and See also:dairy products. In 1905 its factory products were valued at $1,234,956, 47•o % more than in 1900. Denison was settled by Northerners at the See also:- TIME (0. Eng. Lima, cf.
