S. of the See also:city of Corrientes. Pop. (19o5, est.) 7000. The town is built on See also:low ground which is subject to inundations in very wet See also:weather, but its streets are broad and the See also:general See also:appearance of its edifices is See also:good. Among its public buildings is a handsome See also:parish See also:church and a See also:national normal school. The productions of the neighbourhood are chiefly See also:pastoral, and its exports include See also:cattle, hides, See also:wool and oranges. Goya had an export of crudely-made See also:cheese See also:long before the See also:modern cheese factories of the Argentine Republic came into existence. The See also:place See also:dates from 1807, and had its origin, it is said, in the See also:trade established there by a See also:ship See also:captain and his wife Gregoria or Goya, who supplied passing vessels with See also:beef.
