HITZACKER , a See also:

town of See also:Germany, in the Prussian See also:province of See also:Hanover at the influx of the Jeetze into the See also:Elbe, 33 M. N.E. of See also:Luneburg by the railway to See also:Wittenberge. Pop. (1905) iro6. It has an Evangelical See also:church and an old See also:castle and numerous See also:medieval remains. There are chalybeate springs and a hydropathic See also:establishment in the town. The famous library now in Wolfenbiittel was originally founded here by See also:Augustus, See also:duke of See also:Brunswick (d. 1666) and was removed to its See also:present habitation in 1643.
