The first narrates the adventures of seven See also:young Lorrainers, who set out to conquer See also:fortune in See also:Paris. Six of them survive in the second novel of the trilogy, L'A ppel an soldat (1900), which gives the See also:history of Boulangism; the sequel, Leurs figures (1902), deals with the See also:Panama scandals. Later See also:works are: Scenes et doctrines du nationalisme (1902); Les Amities franQaises (1903), in which he urges the inculcation of patriotism by the early study of See also:national history; Ce que j'ai vu es See also:Rennes (1904); Au service de l'Allemagne (19o5), the experiences of an Alsatian conscript in a German See also:regiment; Le Voyage de See also:Spade (1906). M. Banes was admitted to the French See also:Academy in 1906. See also R. See also:Doumic, Les Jeunes (1896) ; J.
