Having studied See also:theology at See also:Lingen and See also:Halle, he became successively See also:rector of the See also:grammar school at Mors (1793), See also:professor of theology at See also:Duisburg (1800), preacher at See also:Crefeld, and afterwards at Kettwig, Consistorialrath and See also:superintendent in See also:Bernburg, and, after declining an invitation to the university of See also:Bonn, pastor of the Ansgariuskirche in See also:Bremen (1824). He died at Bremen on the 14th of See also:April 1845. He was the author of many religious See also:works, but is best known by his Parabeln (1805; 9th ed. 1876; Eng. trans. 1844). A. W. Moller published his See also:life and letters in 1849. His See also:brother GOTTFRIED See also:DANIEL KRUMMACHER (1774–1837), who studied theology at Duisburg and became pastor successively in See also:Bari (1798), Wulfrath (18o1) and See also:Elberfeld (1816), was the See also:leader of the " pietists " of Wupperthal, and published several volumes of sermons, including one entitled See also:Die Wanderungen Israels durch d. See also:Waste nach Kanaan (1834).
