MOBERLY , a See also:

city of See also:Randolph See also:county, See also:Missouri, U.S.A., in the See also:north central See also:part of the See also:state, about 130 M. E. by N. of See also:Kansas City. Pop. (1890), 8215; (1900), 8012, (923 negroes); (1910), 10,923. It is served by the Missouri, Kansas & See also:Texas and the See also:Wabash See also:railways, and is a See also:division headquarters of the latter. The city is regularly laid out on a level See also:prairie site. There are two public parks, a See also:Carnegie library, a commercial See also:college, a Y.M.C.A. See also:building, and a See also:hospital maintained by the Wabash Employees Hospital Association. The most important See also:industrial establishments are the large See also:machine shops (established here in 1872) of the Wdbash railway. Moberly was platted in 1866, was incorporated as a See also:town and became the county-seat in 1868, and in 1873 secured a See also:special city See also:charter, which it surrendered in 1889 for city status under the See also:general See also:statute.
