NIEDERBRONN , a See also:

town of See also:Germany, in the imperial See also:province See also:Alsace-See also:Lorraine, on the Falkensteiner See also:Bach, situated under the eastern slope of the See also:Vosges, 12 M. N.W. from See also:Hagenau by See also:rail. Pop. (1905) 3120. It contains an Evangelical and a See also:Roman See also:Catholic See also:church, a See also:convent of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer, and a high-grade and other See also:schools. Niederbronn is one of the best-known watering-places in the Vosges. Its brine springs, with a hydropathic See also:establishment attached, are specific in cases of See also:gout, obesity and See also:liver disorders. Here, on the 26th of See also:July 187o, the first engagement between the Germans and the See also:French in the Franco-See also:German See also:war took See also:place. There are several ruined castles in the neighbourhood, the most noteworthy of which is one on the Wesenburg (1415 It. high) erected in the 14th See also:century. Various See also:Celtic and Roman antiquities have been found around Niederbronn.
