ROCKHAMPTON , a See also:

It has a beautiful situation, and its See also:climate, in spite of See also:heat, is healthy. It is the See also:port of a wide agricultural See also:district, which also produces See also:gold, See also:copper and See also:silver. Much of the See also:trade is carried on through the ports of See also:Alma and Broadmount, near the mouth of the river, both available for ocean steamers. Rockhampton has a large trade in frozen See also:meat, and there are factories for See also:extract and meat preserving. Rockhampton is the See also:terminus of the Queens-See also:land Central railway and the seat of an See also:Anglican and a See also:Roman See also:Catholic bishopric.
