(09o) 15,361; (1900) 17,484, of whom 2750 were See also:foreign-See also:born; (1910) 21,122. Belleville is served by the Illinois Central, the See also:Louisville & See also:Nashville, and the See also:Southern See also:railways, also by extensive interurban electric systems; and a See also:belt See also:line to O'Fallon, Illinois, connects Belleville with the See also:Baltimore & See also:Ohio See also:South Western railway. A large See also:element of the See also:population is of See also:German descent or German See also:birth, and two See also:newspapers are published in German, besides three dailies, three weeklies and a semi-weekly in See also:English.
