EYEMOUTH , a See also:

It is situated at the mouth of the See also:Eye, 7z m N.N.W. of See also:Berwick-on-See also:Tweed by the See also:North See also:British railway via Burnmouth. Its public buildings are the See also:town See also:hall, library and masonic hall. The See also:main See also:industry is the fishing and allied trades. The See also:harbour was enlarged in 1887, and the See also:bay is easily accessible and affords See also:good anchorage. Owing to the rugged See also:character of the See also:coast and its numerous ravines and caves the whole See also:district was once infested with smugglers. The promontory of St Abb's See also:Head is 3 M. to the N.W.
