GLUCKSBURG , a See also:

town of See also:Germany, in the Prussian See also:province of See also:Schleswig-See also:Holstein, romantically situated among See also:pine See also:woods on the Flensburg See also:Fjord off the Baltic, 6 m. N.E. from Flensburg by See also:rail. Pop. (1905) 1551. It has a See also:Protestant See also:church and some small manufactures and is a favourite See also:sea-bathing resort. The See also:castle, which occupies the site of a former Cistercian monastery, was, from 1622 to 1979, the See also:residence of the See also:dukes of Holstein-See also:Sonderburg-Glucksburg, passing then to the See also:king of See also:Denmark and in 1866 to See also:Prussia. King See also:Frederick VII. of Denmark died here on the 15th of See also:November 1863.
