After 1872 he lived in See also:France, having a See also:house and studio at See also:Poissy on the See also:Seine. He painted See also:peasant See also:women out of doors with See also:great popular success. He was awarded the See also:silver See also:medal and See also:cross of the See also:Legion of See also:Honour, Exposition Universelle, Paris, 1889, and was made a knight of the Royal See also:Order of St See also:Michael of See also:Bavaria, See also:Munich, 1893, receiving the See also:gold medal of honour from the See also:Pennsylvania See also:Academy of See also:Fine Arts, Philadelphia, 1893. His son, See also:Ashton Knight, is also known as a landscape painter.
