DAY , in the See also:United States, a legal See also:holiday in nearly all of the states and Territories, where the first See also:Monday in See also:September is observed by parades ,and meetings of labour organizations. In 1882 the Knights of Labor paraded in New See also:York See also:City on this day; in 1884 another See also:parade was held, and it was decided that this day should be set apart for this purpose. In 1887 See also:Colorado made the first Monday in September a legal holiday; and in 1909 Labor Day was observed as a holiday throughout the United States, except in See also:Arizona and See also:North Dakota; in See also:Louisiana it is a holiday only in New See also:Orleans (Orleans See also:parish), and in See also:Maryland, See also:Wyoming and New See also:Mexico it is not established as a holiday by See also:statute, but in each may be proclaimed as such in any See also:year by the See also:governor. LA BOURBOULE, a watering-See also:place of central See also:France, in the See also:department of See also:Puy-de-See also:Dome, 41 m. W. by N. of Mont-Doreby road. Pop. (Igoe) 1401. La Bourboule is situated on the right See also:bank of the See also:Dordogne at a height of 2790 ft. Its See also:waters, of which See also:arsenic is the characteristic constituent, are used in cases of diseases of the skin and See also:respiratory See also:organs, See also:rheumatism, See also:neuralgia, &c.
