LONGWY , a fortified See also:town of See also:north-eastern See also:France in the See also:department of Meurthe-et-Moselle, 89 m. N.N.W. of See also:Nancy by See also:rail. Pop. (1906) 8523. Longwy is situated on a See also:plateau overlooking the Chiers, a right-See also:bank affluent of the See also:Meuse, near the frontiers of See also:Belgium and See also:Luxemburg.
