(who transferred the seat of See also:government hither from See also:Edessa) and See also:Alexander the See also:Great, who was See also:born here. It seems to have retained some importance up to the See also:time of See also:Hadrian. Scanty remains exist and some springs in the neighbourhood are still known as the See also:baths of Pei. The site (identified by See also:Leake) is occupied by the See also:village of Neochori (Turk. Feni-Keui) about 32 M. See also:north-See also:west of Salonika.
