king Theodotus. Six months afterwards (Dec. 9) he was one of those who admitted See also:Belisarius into the See also:city. He opposed the restoration of the See also:patriarch Anthimus, whom Agapetus had deposed, and thus brought upon himself the hatred of See also:Theodora, who desired to see See also:Vigilius made pope. He was deposed accordingly by Belisarius in March 537 on a See also:charge of treasonable See also:correspondence with the Goths, and degraded to the See also:rank of See also:- MONK (O.Eng. munuc; this with the Teutonic forms, e.g. Du. monnik, Ger.
