town in the See also:province of See also:north See also:Brabant, See also:Holland, and a junction station 131 M. by See also:rail E. by S. of See also:Breda. A See also:steam See also:tramway connects it northwards with Waalwijk. Pop. (1905), 46,517. Tilburg has risen into importance since the separation of See also:Belgium from Holland as one of the See also:chief See also:industrial centres of the See also:south. It has See also:Roman See also:Catholic and See also:Protestant churches, a See also:synagogue, a See also:cloth See also:hall, a higher-burgher school, an See also:art and See also:music school, and a Roman Catholic See also:seminary. The woollen manufacture is the chief 'See also:industry, besides which there are See also:leather, See also:soap, oil and See also:tobacco factories, as well as breweries, tanneries and See also:iron foundries.
