TLAXCALA , a See also:

It is of historic See also:interest in connexion with the See also:conquest of Mexico by See also:Cortes. The state-See also:house is its only See also:fine edifice of a See also:political See also:character, and the old See also:bishop's See also:palace its finest See also:building of a religious character. Of most historic interest, perhaps, is the See also:church of See also:San Francisco, the first erected on the See also:American See also:continent, which still contains the See also:vestments, See also:pulpit, See also:font and See also:cedar See also:ceiling brought from See also:Spain in 1521. The handsome See also:sanctuary over the See also:holy well of Ocotlan, on a See also:hill outside the town, is one of the landmarks of the surrounding See also:country.
