He was educated at See also:Merchant Taylors' School and in the See also:office of See also:Lewis N. Cottingham (1787-1847). In 185o he went to See also:America and became A. J. See also:Downing's architectural partner. In 1856 and 1866 Vaux was associated with F. L. See also:Olmsted in the plans for the improvement of various parks. He designed the See also:Belvidere in Central See also:Park, New See also:York, and built a number of See also:country houses in See also:Newport, besides many See also:town houses and public institutions.
