WATERFORD , a See also:

village of See also:Saratoga See also:county, New See also:York, U.S.A., on the W. See also:bank of the See also:Hudson See also:river, near the mouth of the See also:Mohawk river, and about ro in. N. of See also:Albany. Pop. (1900) 3146, of whom 474 were See also:foreign-See also:born; (1905) 3134; (1910) 3245. Waterford is served by the See also:Delaware & Hudson See also:rail-way, and is at the junction of the See also:Erie and the See also:Champlain divisions of the See also:great See also:barge See also:canal connecting See also:Lake Erie and Lake Champlain. There was a See also:settlement here probably as See also:early as 1630, and Waterford was laid out in 1784, and was incorporated as a village in 1794.
