Albert never visited the See also:Holy See also:Land, but he appears to have had a considerable amount of intercourse with returned crusaders, and to have had See also:access to valuable See also:correspondence. The first edition of the history was published at Helmstadt in 1584, and a See also:good edition is in the Recueil See also:des historiens des croisades, tome iv. (See also:Paris, 1841—1887).
