COHN, GUSTAV (184o– ) , See also:German economist, was See also:born on the 12th of See also:December 184o at See also:Marienwerder, in See also:West See also:Prussia. He was educated at See also:Berlin and See also:Jena See also:universities. In 1869 he obtained a See also:post at the See also:polytechnic in See also:Riga, and in 1875 was elected a See also:professor at the polytechnic at See also:Zurich. In 1873 he went to See also:England for a See also:period of study, and as a result published his Untersuchungen tither See also:die englische Eisenbahnpolitik (See also:Leipzig, 1874–187J). In 1884 he was appointed professor of See also:political See also:science at See also:Gottingen. Cohn's best-known See also:works are See also:System der Nationaldkonomie (See also:Stuttgart, 1885); Finanzwissenschoft (1889); Nationalokonomische Studien (1886), and Zur Geschichte and Politik See also:des Verkehrswesens (1900).
