Conneautis situated in a See also:grain-growing and dairying region; it has an excellent See also:harbour to and from which See also:coal and ore are shipped, and is a sub-port of entry. The city has planing See also:mills, See also:flour mills, See also:brick See also:works, tanneries, canneries and manufactories of electric and See also:gas See also:fixtures, electric lamps and See also:tungsten gas lamps. The See also:municipality owns and operates its electric-See also:lighting plant. In 1796 survcyors for the See also:Connecticut See also:Land Co. built a See also:log See also:store-See also:house here, but the permanent See also:settlement See also:dates from 1798; in 1832 Conneaut was incorporated, and it became a city in 1898.
