The most interesting of the ecclesiastical buildings is the See also:chapel of St See also:Blasius, which was restored in 1896. The See also:chief See also:industries are See also:cotton See also:spinning, See also:weaving, See also:bleaching, See also:dyeing, See also:printing, See also:machine See also:building and See also:lithography, and there is an active See also:trade in See also:wine, See also:beer and See also:cheese. Kaufbeuren is said to have been founded in 842, and is first mentioned in See also:chronicles of the See also:year 1126. It appears to have become a See also:free imperial See also:city about 1288, retaining the dignity until 1803, when it passed to Bavaria. It was formerly a resort of pilgrims, and See also:Roman coins have been found in the vicinity.
