The saline, See also:sulphur and chalybeate springs of Llandrindod have See also:long been famous. According to a See also:treatise published by a See also:German physician, Dr See also:Wessel See also:Linden, in 1754, the saline springs at Ffynon-llwyn-y-See also:gog (" the well in the cuckoos' See also:grove ") in the See also:present See also:parish of Llandrindod had acquired more than a See also:local reputation as See also:early as the See also:year 1696. In the 18th See also:century both saline and sulphur springs were largely patronized by See also:numbers of visitors, and about 1749 a Mr Grosvenor built a hydropathic See also:establishment near the old See also:church, on a site now covered by a See also:farm-See also:house known as Llandrindod See also:Hall.
