urban See also:district in the See also:Epping See also:parliamentary See also:division of See also:Essex, See also:England, 111 m. N.N.E. of See also:Liverpool See also:Street station, See also:London, by the See also:Great Eastern railway. Pop. (1901), 4730. This is one of the villages which has become the centre of a residential district, and is frequented by See also:holiday-makers from London, owing to its proximity to the pleasant woodland scenery of Epping See also:Forest. It lies on the eastern outskirts of the Forest, near the See also:river Roding. There are several See also:modern churches. The lordship of the See also:manor was granted to See also:Waltham See also:Abbey. In the vicinity are large earthworks, probably of See also:British origin, known as Loughton See also:Camp.
