In the war of 187o he used his best efforts as a mediator, and accompanied the provisional See also:government to See also:Tours. He continued to hold his See also:post with universal See also:acceptance until See also:November 1887. He died on the 5th of See also:December 1887, when the See also:title became See also:extinct.
