NEUBURG , a See also:town of See also:Germany, in the See also:kingdom of See also:Bavaria, is pleasantly situated on the See also:Danube, 12 M. W. of See also:Ingolstadt, on the railway to Neuoffingen. Pop. (1905) 8532. It is a See also:place of See also:ancient origin, but is chiefly noteworthy because formerly for two centuries it was the See also:capital of the principality of Pfalz-Neuburg. Its most important See also:building is the old See also:residence of its princes, the handsomest See also:part of which is in the See also:Renaissance See also:style of the 16th See also:century. The town also contains an Evangelical and seven See also:Roman See also:Catholic churches, a town See also: In 1742 it wasunited again with the Rhenish Palatinate, with which it passed in 1777 to Bavaria.
