He married, about 1582, See also:Margaret, eldest daughter of See also:Hugh See also:Montgomerie, 3rd earl of See also:Eglinton. His sons Robert and See also:George were successively earls of Wintoun; the third, See also:Alexander, became, in right of his See also:mother, 6th earl of Eglinton; the See also:fourth, See also:Thomas, was the ancestor of the Setons of Oliveston.
