SEDBERGH , a See also:

S.S.E. of See also:Penrith by a See also:branch of the See also:London & See also:North-Western railway. Pop. (1901) 2430. It is pleasantly situated at the junction of several small streams forming the See also:river Lune, in a deep valley surrounded by high-lying See also:moors. The See also:church of St See also:Andrew is principally See also:late See also:Norman. The See also:grammar school was founded by Dr See also:Roger Lupton, See also:provost of See also:Eton See also:College, in 1528, but as it was connected with a See also:chantry it was suppressed by See also:Henry VIII., to be refounded in 1551 by See also:Edward VI.; it now takes See also:rank among the important public See also:schools.
