WISHAW , a municipal and See also:

police See also:burgh of See also:Lanarkshire, See also:Scotland. Pop. (1901) 20,873. It occupies the See also:face of a See also:hill a See also:short distance See also:south of the South See also:Calder and about 2 M. N. of the See also:Clyde, 15 M. E.S.E. of See also:Glasgow by the Caledonian railway. It owes its importance to the development of the See also:coal and See also:iron See also:industry, and was created a police burgh in 18J5. It was ex-tended to include the villages of Cambusnethan and Craigneuk in 1874. The See also:chief public buildings are the See also:town-See also:hall, See also:Victoria See also:hail, the public library and the See also:parish hall, and there is also a public See also:park.
