Guillaume, a foundling supposed to be of See also:low degree, is brought up at the See also:court of the See also:emperor of See also:Rome, and loves his daughter Melior who is destined for a See also:Greek See also:prince. The lovers flee into the See also:woods disguised in See also:bear-skins. Alfonso, who is Guillaume's See also:cousin and a See also:Spanish prince, has been changed into a See also:wolf by his step-See also:mother's enchantments. He provides See also:food and See also:protection for the fugitives, and Guillaume eventually triumphs over Alfonso's See also:father, and wins back from him his See also:kingdom. The benevolent See also:werwolf is disenchanted, and marries Guillaume's See also:sister.
