He became a probationer See also:fellow of Corpus in 16o6, and was soon afterwards elected See also:vice-president. In 1623 he was presented to the living of St See also:Nicholas, See also:Newcastle, and about 1625 to the living of Winston, Durham. Five years later he was appointed president of Corpus, and in 1632 the See also:king presented him to the living of See also:Witney, See also:Oxfordshire. He was made a See also:prebendary of See also:Winchester in 1635, and was dean of Peterborough in 1635–1639. Although Originally a Calvinist, he became in later See also:life an Arminian. Creed, the first See also:complete edition being entitled The See also:Works of Thomas Jackson, D.D. (See also:London, 1673). The commentaries were, however, originally published in 1613-1657, as twelve books with different titles, the first being The Eternal Truth of Scriptures (London, 1613).
