From 1603 until his See also:death he was elected, with one exception, to each See also:parliament, sitting invariably for a See also:constituency of his native See also:county. For several years his sympathies were in antagonism to the See also:court party. Every See also:commission that was appointed numbered Noy among its members, and even those who were opposed to him in politics acknowledged his learning. A few years before his death he was See also:drawn over to the See also:side of the court, and in See also:October 1631 he was created See also:attorney-See also:general, but was never knighted. It was through his See also:advice that the See also:impost of See also:ship-See also:money was levied. Noy had See also:long suffered from See also:stone, and died in See also:great agony on the 9th of See also:August 1634; two days later.he was buried at New See also:Brentford See also:church. His See also:principal See also:works are On the Grounds and See also:Maxims of the See also:Laws of this See also:Kingdom (1641) and The Compleat Lawyer (1661).
