Henry II. of See also:France, marrying Henry's daughter See also:Claude in 1559. He took See also:part in the See also:wars of See also:religion in France, and was a member of the See also:League; but he was overshadowed by his kinsmen the Guises, although he was a possible See also:candidate for the See also:French See also:crown in 1589. The duke, who was an excellent ruler of Lorraine, died at See also:Nancy on the 14th of May 16o8.
