See also:Baillie, the See also:army of See also:Sir See also:Hector See also:Munro here found refuge. The town is noted for its manufacture of pottery, and carries on a See also:trade in See also:rice. The DISTRICT OF CHINGLEPUT surrounds the See also:city of Madras, stretching along the See also:coast for about 115 M. The administrative headquarters are at See also:Saidapet. See also:Area, 3079 sq. m. Pop. (1901) 1,312,122, showing an increase of 9% in the See also:decade. See also:Salt is extensively manufactured all along the coast. See also:Cotton and See also:silk See also:weaving is also largely carried on, and there are numerous See also:indigo vats, tanneries and an See also:English See also:cigar factory.
