He produced a very large number of designs which were published in numerous volumes; among the most ambitious were ornamental centres for ceilings in which he introduced cupids with bows and arrows, Fame See also:sounding her See also:trumpet, and such like motives. See also:Sport and natural See also:history supplied him with many other themes, and one of his ceilings is a See also:hunting See also:scene representing a " kill." His See also:principal See also:works were Designs for Ceilings; Convenient and Ornamental See also:Architecture; The See also:Carpenter's See also:Companion for See also:Chinese Railings, See also:Gates, &c. (1770); The Joiner and See also:Cabinet-maker's See also:Darling, or Sixty Designs for See also:Gothic, Chinese, See also:Mosaic and Ornamental Frets (1765); and The See also:Chimney Piece Maker's Daily Assistant (1776). Much of his See also:work was either absurd or valueless.
